Default The Fear Factor....Don't Get Involved!!!!

I wonder how many people see signs of sexual abuse on a child that shut their mouth...The fear factor....Don't get involved...Maybe you are wrong....You will get sued....And the list goes on and on...

About seven years ago we were at a sandwich shop and a man came in with a child...They were of Latin decent....She was about 7 years old and just such a beautiful child...She called him by name....He went to the counter and purchased a soda and chips...They sat down in back by themselves....He kept whispering to her and for some reason I felt something was not right...A sixth sense.....I could smell it.....Then he got up and took the child to the restroom which was down the hall but I could plainly see it....She started to go in and he said something to her.....She smiled at him and said yes.....He looked down the hall to see if anyone was looking at him and went in with her and closed the door....This was a bathroom for only one.....They came out about ten minutes later...She was holding his hand....He was adjusting the zipper on his pants....They went back and sat down and were talking as we left....

It took everything in my power to shut my mouth and pass this child...I knew it was not her Father as she called him by name.....But what to do.......How can I accuse this man of something that I did not see.........I know that this child was molested......The look on his face told me this....I did not look at her face....I couldn't.....

I wanted to get involved...My husband had to hold me back...He said we can not accuse him and I don't want any legal steps taken against me....So where do we go...The law would protect him.....Who would protect me?

Take care, Caroline

That would spark some suspicion in me too. Who takes a little girl into the men's bathroom? Hmm... I wonder if it had stalls in it so she could just wait outside the stall? Of course, I see women do this all the time with little boys. That would be a tough one I suppose. In this day and age, it IS hard to leave a child outside the bathroom alone where they could disappear.

I have to agree though, we are so limited anyway. Getting involved means a LOT nowadays.

That would be really hard to deal with. Suspecting child abuse and not knowing if it's happening or not. Not knowing if you should say something or turn them in.

One thing I do know is that people who abuse children are worthless pieces of crap.
