Default Dog fighting/pit bull fighting.

I want to know why the laws pertaining to dog fighting are not more strict?? By telling people... oh you will just get a slap on the wrist... we are telling the world that we don't really care that much about. That it's not really a big deal at all, but more an annoyance. Does anyone else think there is something wrong with this picture.

So much money and time is wasted investigating and chasing these people down because they don't care if they get caught. So they just keep doing it. If they get caught, oh well, they will just pay the fine and move on to the next dog fights. Give these people some real consequences they can be afraid of and I am sure we will see a reduction in dog fighting.

Dog fighting is sick. Dogs don't fight each other to the death by nature unless it's absolutely necessary. It's scary, it's painful, and they often die from it. Not to mention the abuse they suffer at the hands of their "master". They poked, prodded, yelled at, and made as mean and vicous as possible. It's torture.

People want to ban pit bulls as a means to eliminate "vicous dog" attacks. But let me ask this, if it's such a problem, why aren't we making the consequences of dog fighting more strict?? Instead, we continue to punish the dogs by banning them and euthanizing them. This society is so backwards.

The laws aren't strict enough. Too many people view the loss of dogs, such as pit bulls, no different than the murder of a house fly. I would rather the government would put more into this and less into drug control.
