Someone asked me the other day if swine flu can cause a pregnant woman to have a miscarriage? If anyone has any information on this, I would like to know. She is concerned she could miscarry if she got sick from swine influenza and now she won't eat any pork. Obsessive? Maybe, but hopefully you can enlighten me and I can relay the message to her.

This is a very good question. So far, I haven't really seen any info on studies about this or anything. Nothing on the news. I'm pregnant and concerned too. I would ask my doctor, but my feeling there is that there hasn't been enough research and she probably wouldn't know.

Well, I don't know anything about this, but you should also wonder if being prego and having the swine flu would have any other implications or side effects. The regular flu can cause some problems with pregnancy if it gets too bad. You should ask your doctor even if you aren't sure what to believe. Ask if any kind of flu can cause medical conditions in yourself or your baby during pregnancy or while giving birth.
