Default Lead in garden hoses.

I heard about this on the news some time back and it really surprised me.

I remember when I was a little girl, I would play out in my grandma's yard or my yard at home and on hot days I would play with the water hose. You know, just spraying it and being a kid. But my friends and I would also occassionally drink from the garden hose. Didn't seem any different then the water coming out of the kitchen sink right?

Well, on the news they were talking about how most garden hoses were made with Lead in them. Lead that can get in the water, on your skin, and.... in your mouth/stomach if you are drinking from it. I have to say, that was a bit scary. Something I am sure happens all the time and no one even realizes.

Not only that, but how many people have given water to their animals through garden hoses?? That can't be good!

Question

I didn't know lead was inside a garden hose. What a surprise, I will remember to not drink from a garden hose again.
