Default Sneaky advertising from credit repair companies!

I keep seeing this commercial on tv about credit repair and debt management. It's from some company trying to convince you to sign up for their services. They promise all sorts of positive results. Now I can't say anything about their services in particular because I have never used them, but there IS something to say about their advertising technique.

You will probably know the commercial I speak of when I say it starts out with video footage of Obama speaking on the state of the economy, credit, and American debt. He speaks of today's financial crises. The commercial looks almost "official" as if it were something generated from a news station. It's comes with an "official" looking news ticker at the bottom similar to that on CNN. The actor who periodically chimes in is dressed and speaks like a news castor.

When I first saw this, it immediately caught my attention. I thought it was something being broadcasted by the government. But I am always quick to look for scams and quickly realized it was not what it seemed.

The woman who appeared used sneaky wording to make it sound like she had some association with Obama's footage, without literally saying so.

If you watch closely, you can see in very small fine print that the commercial was in no way associated with the government and that the government does not endorse that company. It then states in even smaller print with the video "source CNN".

I find that the commercial is a very sneaky tactic to catch viewers off guard and have their first reaction be that this is some sort of "official" government advertisement. To me, this says a lot about the type of company they are and because of that, I would never do business with them and I would never recommend them.

Just my thoughts.
