I found this video to be interesting. It explains the history of the steps taken by Mexico government to reduce air pollution, it's effectiveness, and Mexico's current state of pollution. It just goes to show that although people don't want the change that is required, sometimes it's for the best.

We need more regulation on drivers who clog up the highways!

In the majority of the United States, it's law that slower drivers stay in the right hand lane of a multilane highway. The farthest left lane is for faster drivers and is an attempt to keep traffic flowing smoothly. The faster that left lane is moving, the faster people get where they need to be and stop polluting the air.

It seems more and more there are slow people in the fast lane with cars lined up behind them... just putzing along either not paying attention, or scowling at you in their rear view mirror because they know you are back there cussing at them. I have seen many of these people intentionally sitting in the fast lane just trying to prove some point they have in their head and believe is right. Maybe it's because they think no one should ever go faster then the speed limit so they are entitled to stay there as long as they go the speed limit?

I soooo don't agree with that. You never know if someone is speeding due to a life threatening emergency. And frankly, I don't think it's anyone's place to take it upon themselves to hold up an entire lane of traffic for whatever silly reason they may have.

These people that stop up the fast lane cause major congestion and accidents. The people behind them get mad and have to weave in and out of the other lanes just to get around them. And for some reason, I don't understand why, if the left lane slows down... all the lanes slow down... because people are too panicky.

I believe these fast lane slow pokes are a major contributing factor to traffic congestion, lengthened drive times, and air pollution.

V8 engine sports car and truck use should be regulated!

I absolutely LOVE old and super fast sports cars! And I love pickup trucks! It saddens me that I can see the days of racing them and liesurely drives showing them off, are nearing extinction. You may not see it yet, but I do. Either the government is going to have to heavily regulate their use or forced conversion to a new fuel source will do it.

Air pollution is becoming an alarming increasing problem. People seem to ignore it or just be so used to it that they don't notice it. But for someone like me with allergies and a sensitive nose, I can see it like a blinding light... or smell it like a rotten egg.

Large trucks and sports cars with V8 gas guzzling engines are monster contributors to air pollution, global warming, and depletion of unleaded fuel sources.

I think it's time that the world starts to consider phasing these vehicles out. Sports cars should be limited to shows and historical purposes. As I mentioned regarding diesel trucks in a previous thread, trucks should be limited to driving for purposes of relocating the vehicel, maintenance, and transporting large items or large amounts of items. They should not be allowed for daily use. They are just too harmful to the environment.

Use of diesel fueled vehicles should be regulated and limited to business uses.

I am constantly seeing people driving these giant trucks for personal use that use diesel fuel. What I want to know if why there is no regulation...

I am constantly seeing people driving these giant trucks for personal use that use diesel fuel. What I want to know if why there is no regulation yet on who can drive or own these things. I personally feel it's about time that we do something about it to help stop air pollution.

I believe there should be laws in place to regulate the use of diesel fueled vehicles.

Use of diesel fueled vehicles should only be permitted if your BUSINESS requires the power or capacity that only a diesel fueled vehicle can provide. If your work is deemed to be doable with a more eco friendly unleaded or other fueled vehicle, then you are not permitted to own or use a diesel vehicle.

I'm sorry if that upsets anyone, but the says of showing off your giant fancy trucks are long gone. So is the days of using diesel trucks to haul around all your vacation and recreation toys. Nowadays, most people will just look at you in disgust because you don't care about polluting the air. Or, because you are living so lavishly while the economy is in the state it's in.

I don't know about you, but I am tired of getting stuck on some street or highway behind some jackass in a diesel truck that's blowing black smoke right into my air intake of my car engine... for me to breath. And I'm sick of feeling like I need to roll up my windows for some fresh air. It's supposed to be the other way around!

Breathing air pollution while driving in rush hour traffic!

I generally work from home, but on occasion, I have to venture out into central Ohio to run errands. Many times, I find myself in rush hour traffic...

I generally work from home, but on occasion, I have to venture out into central Ohio to run errands. Many times, I find myself in rush hour traffic and a lot of air pollution.

Being that I do not travel a lot and spend a lot of time in my house with the air conditioning on, I am really sensitive to the smells of the outside world. I find myself extremely bothered and concerned about the way the air smells during rush hour traffic. I can see all the vehicles around me polluting the air and it's disgusting. I can't help but think (while I'm smelling what is clearly toxic chemicals), that I am harming myself. I want to hold my breath and run to the nearest oxygen tank.

I am so thankful that my 2009 Camry has a feature that allows me to either block incoming airflow from the outside or allow the outside air to come in. It was a beautiful morning the other day while I was stuck in traffic. At first, I had my windows down and was enjoying the cool breeze, but the smell just really got to me so I ended up rolling up the windows, turning on interior air AC only, and stewing about how much that irritated me. I use that air filtration and inner circulation system all the time because of the toxic smells outside. Once I turn that on, I don't smell anything like that anymore. It's always something... fertilizer, diesel, factory pollution, and waste management air pollution. Ugh! It's so gross!

It seriously makes me feel very uneasy about the way things are going on this planet. There is going to be a day when no one can breathe the air outside. People are going to have to start wearing masks. And everyone just goes on about their lives like they just don't even care. Honestly, it pisses me off.
