Default Relocation of elephants from Malawi

I just read about this today. I am not going to go into a ton of detail about the situation. If you want more info check out the original sources.

Quick overview: Because of human civilization overtaking the areas surrounding the major water source for the local elephants, the people are having to deal with the elephants causing a lot of trouble for them. The elephants are killing people and destroying their crops. So, the humans are, in turn, killing and injuring the elephants. A relocation plan has been put into action to move the elephants to a more safe and practical location... the Majete Wildlife Reserve.

My response: I just wanted to say firstly that I am pleased they have come up with a solution and are acting on it. However, upon reading about this, I found myself quite irritated. Many years have gone by with these people abusing the elephants because they were "interfering" with their way of life. This is what pisses me off about the human race. Nevermind the fact that they were blocking off the main water source to the elephants! Come on people! What were the elephants supposed to do? And why should the elephants have to stay away? People are so selfesh. They never stop to think about the consequences of what they are doing. If I needed to use the lake for agriculture, I would have made sure I was able to share that lake with the local wildlife in some way or another. It really infuriates me that animals have to suffer for our "growth"
