Gardisil commercials hoping you aren't paying attention?
Has anyone else noticed this? The new Gardisil commercial seems to be using tricky wording. The narrator starts out talking about HPV. She then says "Gardisil is the ONLY cancer vaccine."
Ummm... what? No... it's not a cancer vaccine. It's a vaccine that prevents HPV. HPV itself is not cancer. However, HPV can CAUSE cancer to appear if untreated.
So by making the statement that Gardisil is a cancer vaccine, is false advertising isn't it? Can they really say that? I think it's just a way to catch people's attention so they think it's something better then it really is. Not to say Gardisil is bad. I just think a company that markets like that should be kept under a watchful eye.
