Years ago when I was a small child, I used to look at all these leaders of the world in awe....I would hurry to the train to see Truman wave to the people...I passed Nixon and his daughter and her little boy in Epcot as the held up a monorail for them to ride by themselves with Bebe whoever his name was (Nixon's friend)...I was able to have a private walk through the White House again pretty much in awe at 18 years old......And the list would go on with some of the world leaders that I looked at with reverence....only I did not see them, but I can guess.....
Now I have grown up.....I am no longer turning my head...All I have seen and read has been a disappointment.......I think I may be looking at some of the world's greatest actors.......And I am sick of going to their show....TC, C |

I couldn't agree more, Caroline (good to see you here by the way!). Presidents of the past have an entirely different character. Yes, they are all now just really good actors. Saying what the people want/need to hear. It's amazing to me that we seem to always have such poor options to choose from when it comes to candidates lately. I do believe people have really lost a lot of faith in our government and the hope that there will ever be anyone who can really do the job well. I know there has to be someone better out there that just hasn't stepped up. I have felt the same way about voting. I was going to vote for Hillary. Now, I just don't really want to vote for anyone. I don't want either of them to be president personally. But, since it has to be one or the other, I will go ahead and vote. Just because I do feel one is better then the other. I will definitely not feel confident about our new president though. I will very very uneasy the whole time. Just waiting for things to become even worse then they are now. I don't know... I really hope that whoever wins... proves me wrong and takes America in a new direction of improvement.

I was going to vote for hilliary too.. I have always been a fan of when clinton was in office and the things she would pursue and defend for. Example the medical benefits in the unitedstates, how we overcharge for medicines and places like cuba charge like 3 dollars... Hilliary wanted similar benefits as Canada or London and here she was shot down and hushed by the medical insurance companines... I had high hopes that we would finally have our first women president as well. I guess America is not really ready for that yet. But to be honest I am really disappointed in our world leaders today.. it seems more common people who do things like fight for a greener earth or rights in this world are better role models then the people we put in charge of the world. its really quite sad

My parents and I were talking last weekend about this. We all still want Hillary. I know there's not much we can do about it at this point, but if there is a way to write in Hillary's name on our vote somewhere, we are putting in on the side. Just so the government knows, we wanted her. Not Obama or McCain. Ugh.

Jessica: When you find this out let me know....I think this is the saddest election I have ever seen....Obama is not President material....It should be Biden-Obama....He is too young....He is not ready....McCain is an old man....That is all there is to it....Palin tries but she is not any kind of a leader....
I hate to say it because I never thought it before, but I do think that Hillary would have been the best choice in this election.... I can't believe I just said this... But I did.....

I do think that because Obama is younger and because of the type of people he associates with, that he would be better at thinking into the future at more modern and futuristic ideals. But, at the same time, I agree that he is probably not ready to be a present. I think that if Obama wins, it might be ok so long as he is willing to continue to learn and be molded by America and listen hard to those in government that know what they are doing. I think he has potential, but it's a risky play. I also worry about all the contaversy over his race. There has been a lot of focus on the color of his skin. I think it's ridiculous. I don't think it EVER should have mattered what color his skin is. But what worries me about this is that people are going to make this into a racial thing. I worry that he might have his own racial motivation behind this. I truly hope that isn't true, but the thought is still there. I am really happy that he is multi-racial though. I think that is a huge step to accepting that it's ok to be who we are. That it doesn't matter if you are white or black and that your color has nothing to do with your IQ. I think I am leaning more toward Obama at this point. I don't like Mccain at all.
