What is wrong with people???

I find that I ask myself this ALL the time. Just what IS wrong with people? Seriously! I just cannot understand what the hell people are thinking or how people can be so selfish and cold. It really makes me have a disgust for the human race some times.

I keep seeing on the news or hearing around town about elderly women being raped and killed, children being shot, mother's being robbed at gun point while they hold their baby in their arms, homes being set on fire, and people being brutally murdered. I just don't get it.

How can another person harm someone else like that? What is wrong with someone that they could do such a thing? There is clearly something screwed up in their head if they can do those things. They have no concern for anyone else and they are a disgrace to man kind. It's disgusting and pathetic. There just isn't room for people like that. There should be no patience for crimes like that. I truly believe we are far too easy on crime. Well, and most of the time we are far too unfair and unjust. I'm sorry, but I don't understand why we house people in prisons for life or really long periods if they have raped, beaten, or killed someone. Why?? Why are we paying their bill? Why are we keeping them around? Who really wants that type of person in society? I believe that if we were all raised knowing that it was "an eye for an eye", then there wouldn't be as much crime. Everyone now knows that they have a good chance of their sleezy lawyer getting them off the hook, an easy going judge giving them a slap on the wrist, or a life provided for by tax payers. And yeah, prison is no walk in the park, but for people who are evil minded in the first place... it's probably like second nature to them living in a place like that. It's an inconvenience, but hey... they have a life in their little prison society. And why should they? Why should they be given even that much if they ruined or severly damaged an innocent person's life?

Everyone wants to be a saint. No one wants to be the bad guy and "put the real bad guys to sleep". No one wants the blood on their hands. We are weak and we don't do what needs to be done.

This is becoming a sicker and sicker world. It really is sad. I don't think I even want to have children. I don't want them to be a part of this. This isn't the world I want to leave for them.
