Jerry Springer show promotes hate.

I sat down to eat something this morning and flipped through the channels on my tv. I happened to stop on the Jerry Springer Show. I never watch Jerry Springer, but it caught my eye. As usual, the people were screaming and yelling at each other and the women were trying to rip each other's shirts off. It really got me thinking... that I have something to say about the Jerry Springer Show.

I am not one for censorship. I believe in freedom of speach. But these days, I do believe there should be a point when we say enough is enough. For the sake of society and children who may be allowed to watch these shows. I am one of those people who says, if you don't like it... don't watch it. But the problem is... there are idiot parents out there who don't pay attention to what their children watch on tv or who just don't care and watch it with them. Shows like this help to influence people into thinking this sort of behavior is ok.

My biggest problem with the Jerry Springer Show is not that people are disagreeing with each other. Or even that they are yelling about it. Or even that they may get physical over it. My problem is when Jerry let's his audience stand up to comment about the show and to the people on stage... and they begin to say very hateful things just to be assholes. I just watched him let his audience make fun of everyone on his stage. Calling them fat, making fun of their appearance, making racist comments about their ethnicity, hateful comments about their sexual orientation, and so on. It was disgusting. And Jerry laughed, joked, and added his own little rude comments in there. Those people thought they were just so cool because they made fun of someone else. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. This is why kids commit suicide or bring guns to school and shoot everyone in them. Because of people like that who think it's funny to make fun of other people. Why are we allowing this garbage on tv? We have come so far to stop racism, discrimination, and hate and he is nearly promoting it.

For those people who go on the Jerry Springer show, take the microphone, and shout out hateful comments like that to other people on the show... you disgust me. Have you no shame? Seriously, GROW UP people! You are making yourselves look like fools.
