Default Japan Tsunami causes Nuclear power plant to release radioactive water into the ocean?

I have been watching the National Geographic channel this evening and a documentary about the Tsunami that hit Japan. It's a bit disturbing to me to hear that because of the damage to the nuclear power plant, a lot of radio active material has been released into the air and directly into the ocean.

My immediate thought was a flash back to the BP oil spill and how horrible that affected the ocean and wild life. To this day, there are still lasting negative affects.

So here we are again and my concerns for radiation are very high. Not only that, but think of all the gasoline, oil, and other chemicals that were washed back into the ocean and spread across the land. Not just from the power plant, but from businesses and homes.

And now, I find myself thinking of the disaster in New Orleans and the devastation from that.

I now find myself wondering if it's such a good idea to have so much important structural buildings and families so close to the ocean? It's such a massive risk. It seems that the human ego always ends up leading to our destruction. We just assume that if we build it bigger and better, we will outsmart mother nature. I think it's been made abuntantly clear that we can never outsmart mother nature. We may think we know what to expect, but the truth is... there is so much unknown about the earth and the forces surrounding it.

So what will be done now? They are trying to repair the nuclear power plant, but really... you can't leave it there. Something will have to be done. That has to be moved. You can't just rebuild it and hope for the best. And you can't hope to build it to accomodate a bigger Tsunami. Who's to say an even BIGGER Tsunami won't hit again?

We like to think that we plan for the worst. That we build our structures for the worst. But I believe, we have no clue what the worst is. We will never know for sure what the worst might be. With the earth ever changing, the galaxy changing, nothing is for sure. It's a dangerous game we play.

I think that if the end of human civilation ever comes, it won't just be mother nature... it will be a combination of mother nature and what we contribute to the disasters.

So how will this latest disaster affect the ocean and land wildlife? I am afraid to see how things progress. Between our animal harvesting animal species to near extinction and our pollutant disasters... we are going to destroy the ocean.

The earth is constantly changing and doing unexpected things. Imagine... multiple earthquakes globally striking multiple major nations, including the United States. More massive Tsunamis and mass destruction. Think of all the economic and government failures that could potentially arise. We are teetering on the edge of destruction.
